About The Cuckoo Brow Inn
Walk into a room at The Cuckoo Brow Inn and you'll find a clean, comfortable en-suite space with drinks provided and, if you've booked a family room, enough space for everyone to settle in easily. Dogs are welcome throughout, not just tolerated, which makes this a straightforward choice for guests travelling with pets. Free WiFi, luggage storage and 24 hour reception round out the practical side of a stay.
Downstairs, the restaurant and bar are the heart of the place, with a menu that regulars return for, including a well-liked Mauritian chicken curry and a Sunday roast. Breakfast is served each morning, packed lunches can be arranged for a day out, and there's a garden and picnic area for warmer weather. Staff are attentive and the atmosphere is friendly rather than formal.
The inn sits within easy reach of Lake Windermere and the wider Lake District, with walking and cycling routes on the doorstep, plus fishing, watersports and golf nearby for those wanting more structured activity. What guests say
Excellent stay at cuckoo brow inn. The staff were friendly, attentive and remembered our daughters dietary requirements. Evening food was excellent, family room with bunk beds was great. Our daughter loved the little Beatrix potter books that were in the room. Dog friendly. Shower was hot with good pressure, much needed after cold walks. Location is excellent, 2 mins from the ferry to bowness and great for Grizedale, Hawkshead, Wray castle etc. We would stop again, thanks for a good holiday ❤️.

Beautiful pub with plenty of outside easting. Landlord was friendly and they had a food choice of lager. Food menu looked good however we were on our way home and only stopped for a drink. However we will defo be going back when next in the lakes to sample the food.

We had a lovely 2-night stay! The highlight of thisnplace is the helpful staff. They habe suggestions for touring and offer helpful directions. The food was also enjoyable. The breakfast always filling and the 1 dinner we had was delicious. The rooms are ok with a few repairs needs here and there. But we were comfortable. I loved hearing the sheep and birds out our windows. The inn is just a few minutes from the ferry point to cross over to Windermere, which was way more efficiency (and less terrifying) than taking the backroads around the lake.

Just got back from a lovely 2 night stay with my husband and our little dog. The staff are all lovely, extremely friendly and welcoming Great location, quiet village surrounded by lovely countryside and a short walk to the ferry terminal The room was comfortable with all the amenities you’d need, the added bonus of a bath was lovely as well ! We would definitely come back and recommend to anyone. Thankyou again :)
