Coniston sits where the Lake District meets the Westmorland coast, a village position that puts you within reach of both mountain scenery and the shoreline. Pier Cottage gives you the whole place to yourselves—three bedrooms, two bathrooms, sleeping six—with a layout that works for families or groups who need space to spread out. Downstairs there's a living room with a Smart TV, a kitchen with a full range of appliances including dishwasher and electric oven, a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a study if anyone needs to work. Upstairs holds a kingsize bedroom, a double with its own ensuite, and a twin, alongside a family bathroom with both bath and shower.
The essentials are provided: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi. One dog is welcome. There's parking for two cars on site. The Steam Yacht Gondola, run by the National Trust, is the significant landmark nearby—a historic vessel that's been sailing Coniston Water since Victorian times. For walkers and explorers, the village offers genuine access to the fells and water without the crowding of more famous Lake District bases. Non-smokers only.
