Swallow’s Nest

Swallow's Nest stands alone on four acres of countryside in the Eden Valley, with a small lake within the grounds. The whole property is yours, arranged on a single storey and accessed via three steps to the entrance. You get three bedrooms—one with a king bed and ensuite shower, another with a king bed, and a third with two single beds that zip together—plus two bathrooms, so there is space and privacy for six people. The living room has an electric woodburner and French doors opening onto a patio; the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with a cooker, dishwasher, washer-dryer and microwave. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included.

The grounds offer several sitting areas positioned to take in views across the water, and wildlife gathers around the lake. From the large windows of the living room, the view extends across the water. The property is set down a country lane, away from main roads but not remote—Kirkby Stephen, a traditional market town three miles off, has shops, pubs and restaurants, and is recognised as a Walkers' Welcome destination. The Settle to Carlisle railway line passes through the town. Touring distance from here reaches into the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Teesdale, County Durham, Hadrian's Wall and Scotland. On-site parking is available, and the property is non-smoking.
