The Swan Hotel (Newby Bridge Ltd)- The Owl Nest

Newby Bridge sits at the southern tip of the Lake District, within reach of the region's most visited attractions. The Owl Nest is a four-bedroom cottage here, accommodating up to eight people across three storeys. Two bedrooms have super king beds and ensuite showers; a third has a king bed served by a separate bathroom with bath and shower; a fourth offers bunk beds suited to children, who also get a freeview TV and PlayStation 4 in that room. One well-behaved dog is welcome to stay.

Downstairs, the open-plan living and dining space has a woodburner, smart TV, and French doors opening onto a patio. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with electric hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Essentials including bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are covered; wood for the burner is provided to start with. Parking on site covers two cars, and there is a rear garden with chiminea and furniture. Check-in is after 4pm, departure before 10am. The property is non-smoking.

A hot tub sits out front, useful for easing into a break after days out exploring fell walks, lakeside villages and museums. Alternatively, the cottage works as a base for family time indoors—particularly with the games console and multiple TV options on rainy afternoons.
