Torver Station Cottages - Ticket Office
Westmorland and Furness
Photo: Google Maps
The Ticket Office at Torver Station Cottages is a former railway station building that retains its character—you can still see the Furness Railway Company crest on the fireplace and the original hatch where tickets were sold. Everything is on the ground floor: a living and dining room with a 50-inch television, a kitchen with electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and washer-dryer, one double bedroom, and a bathroom with a bath and shower. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The property has its own water supply from a well.
Outside, there is private parking for one car, a sitting-out area with a barbecue, and a large enclosed lawned garden. One dog stays free. The hamlet of Torver lies on the edge of Coniston Water, with the Duddon Valley and the Lakeland fells within reach—Coniston Old Man is nearby. A restaurant is 100 yards away; Coniston village, with its shops and cafés, is 2½ miles. The Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway runs steam trains from near Ulverston, and the Victorian steam yacht Gondola sails on Coniston Water from March to November. No smoking inside the property.
