What visitors say
Myself, my partner and my dog stayed for 3 nights in the glamping pod. This place is a hidden gem, the owner Mark was super friendly and gave us advice on great walks, also helped us start the wood burning hot tub....which was amazing much better than regular hot tubs, far more relaxing. I will stay again, hopefully in the summer. 5 stars.

We’ve been staying at The Church House Inn in Torver, near Coniston, and it’s been an excellent experience from start to finish. The setting alone is worth the visit, right in the heart of the Lake District, with proper walking country all around and a peaceful atmosphere that’s hard to beat. The building itself dates back to the 14th century, and you can feel the history in the walls. It has a real old-world character but without feeling tired or run down. The room we stayed in was outstanding, spotless clean, warm, and genuinely cosy. Everything felt looked after, rather than just maintained. A special mention has to go to the host, Mark. He has been nothing short of brilliant. He is welcoming, helpful, and genuinely cares about the people staying there. Not the forced politeness you sometimes get, but the kind of hospitality that makes a place memorable. You can tell he takes real pride in what he does and the inn itself. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay around Coniston, whether you’re exploring, hiking, or just escaping for a bit of peace, I’d absolutely recommend The Church House Inn. Lovely building, comfortable rooms, great atmosphere, and a host who goes the extra mile. We will definitely be coming back.
