Town End Barn

Town End Barn is a converted cottage in Satterthwaite, a quiet village on the edge of Grizedale Forest. The property sleeps four across two bedrooms—one with a kingsize bed and a single, the other with a kingsize—and has a bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs there's a living room with woodburner and television, a kitchen/dining room with Aga and dishwasher, and a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, useful for drying off after forest walks or muddy play.

The cottage comes with electricity, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and logs for the burner included. There's private parking for three cars and an enclosed rear garden with patio and barbecue. One pet stays free of charge. Children under five are not accepted except infants in arms. The village has no shops or street lighting, so bring a torch; a small supermarket is fifteen minutes away by car in Hawkshead, though larger stores deliver. A pub is fifty yards from the door.

Grizedale Visitors Centre sits just over a mile away, making this a practical base for walking or cycling. Bowness, Windermere and Lakeside Aquarium are all reachable by car. The wildlife area behind the garden can become boggy in wet weather.
