Woodhouse Lodge

Westmorland and Furness

View on Google Maps

Pooley Bridge sits at the northern tip of Lake Ullswater, where fell walks begin and the water is busy with steamers in summer. Woodhouse Lodge occupies a quiet spot on a working farm just beyond the village, with the River Eamont running alongside. A footpath from the property follows the river directly into Pooley Bridge, where shops, pubs and cafés cluster around the lake shore.

The lodge is built on one floor with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, sleeping four. Both bedrooms have zip-and-link beds (which can be configured as doubles or singles) and ensuite bathrooms with walk-in showers. The main living space is open plan, opening through French doors onto a balcony. In the cooler months there is a wood burner for extra warmth, and biomass central heating runs throughout. The kitchen has everything needed for self-catering—oven, induction hob, dishwasher and fridge-freezer—and there is a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. An enclosed garden at the rear has furniture for sitting out.

The High Street fell range is within a mile; Helvellyn and Keswick are within reach for longer walks or a change of scene. Families with young children will find a small play area and football pitch at the adjacent holiday park. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. Parking for two cars is on site. The property is non-smoking.
