This is my second visit to the Engine Shed. Anna and Nick are fantastic hosts. Great communication from start to finish from booking. Clean and tidy, off street parking, kettle, coffee, tea and milk so can grab that essential brew after a drive. Has a fridge and TV. 5 mins from the M5, 10mins from Puxton Park and Locking Helicopter Museum, 15-20 mins from Weston super mare sea front, 20mins from Thatchers, 25 mins from Cheddar Gorge so a great location for playing tourist!! When there 5min walk to a fantastic local pub that serves food, 5 mins drive to really good shopping area with super market and maccies. Honestly this is my now go to place when visiting family. This visit was booked less than 24hrs before I arrived and was smooth and effortless to sort. Please be aware its called the Engine Shed as is next to the Great Western Railway so you get trains passing but Honestly it isnt a problem. Nearest train station is 5 mins away and can go to loads of places.

Really lovely room, Bed comfortable, facilities to make Drinks & there's a little fridge, is more homely than impersonal like the bigger chains, if you don't like train sounds, not that I noticed them as you are right by the tracks bring earplugs

Wasn't cleaned properly after last guests as we found their rubbish on the carpet and their stains in basin. Sheets stains too, Yuk. The shed is practically on the railway line and not only noisy but the room vibrates! Trains all through to 3.45am then started again at 5.45am. We went on a Wednesday night expecting the quiet trains as the steam trains are at the weekend only, but only got a very noisy restless night. Their 'train' description is inaccurate. There's no privacy as the garden is shared with the owner and not separate. Luckily they were away. Half glazed door, with ill fitting blind which doesn't block out any light. No curtains either 😕 a slatted blind which lets in light when closed. The shower thermostat is not working the shower goes from warm to cold in seconds then back to warm slowly then hot then freezing again, nightmare. It happened to both of us and neither of us moved the temperature knob. Didn't see the owners as they were away. Saw in online photos and therefore expecting, hot chocolate and toffees, but got builders tea/coffee biscuits. Fridge is situated in an old kitchen unit with door missing and fridge is unstable.

Both my wife and I spent a night at the absolute little Gem. A lovely little 2 bed bedsit/ chalet with ensuite. The room was cleaned to a very high standard. We personally liked the little personal touch of a little jar of coffee, tea bags, sugar cubes and not the little sachets you get in most places there was even a small bottle of milk in the fridge. Yes it's right next to a train line but as some of the reviews state the trains shake the room , THEY DONT . Both me and Janette would definitely stay here again and 💯 recommend to anyone.
