About A Maiden Rest
A Maiden Rest occupies a spot on Weymouth's Esplanade, the kind of grand seafront terrace this stretch of Dorset coast is known for, now run as a 12-room B&B. The building's period character sits alongside modern conveniences, making it a comfortable base whether you're passing through or staying a while.
Rooms are straightforward and well looked after, with breakfast included each morning and free WiFi throughout. Reception is staffed 24 hours, so arrival times are flexible, and free on-site parking takes away one of the usual headaches of a seaside stay.
The seafront itself is a short stroll away, and Corfe Castle is within reach for a day out inland. It's a practical choice for exploring this part of the Dorset coast, with the essentials covered rather than any added frills.

Again another amazing stay. Had room 20 at the back this time. Very big and comfy. Lovely and cool to come back to after a day at the beach. Warm throughout the evening. Amazing Breakfasts as always. Selection of cereals, Danishes and fruit along side a full English. Dean is very attentive even takes time to chat and makes sure everything is ok.

Great communication from the start ( unlike ourselves) room clean, bed comfortable in double room, was my Partners Belated Birthday & they made nice Birthday touches in the room. Breakfast was the highlight, absolutely delicious, hot & served by Dean's lovely wife. My partner Mark had to leave a night eariler, so although we weren't great at all at communicating this, Dean was so understanding. Also turns out late in my journey back to London, that I realised I left my best leather jacket in room, I was so worried, Dean looked in room straight away & message me to inform me he'd got it & will look after it for me until I came to collect it. Dean is a superb host & is lovely sweet wife is a gem + a great cook.

The owners are friendly, and the hotel is clean, but Room 12 is simply unacceptable during hot weather. While the outside temperature was just over 30°C, the room became unbearably hot in the afternoon—well over 40°C. It was impossible to relax or sleep properly, and after a day of sightseeing we couldn’t even stay in the room because of the heat. My daughters were exhausted after three nights. I asked the owner to leave the fan running while we were out, but she refused, saying it used too much electricity. There was also an unfair accusation that three people were staying in the room. In reality, I slept in my campervan every night, and only my two daughters stayed in the hotel room. Breakfast was only for them, and I only joined them to keep them company. The town itself is beautiful, and I believe the sea-facing rooms may be much better, but Room 12 should not be rented in this condition during summer. If you book this hotel, do everything you can to avoid Room 12
