Ladycross Plantation Caravan Park

Egton, Whitby YO21 1UA, UK

AA 5-star touring park in 95 acres of moorland woodland, 5 miles from Whitby

About Ladycross Plantation Caravan Park

Ladycross Plantation spreads across 95 acres of mature woodland near Egton, offering touring pitches tucked between trees rather than regimented rows on open grass. That wooded setting brings natural shelter and privacy unusual for a park of this size, and over two miles of trails loop through the plantation to a secluded pond, meaning walkers and dogs can stretch their legs without leaving the site. Hardstanding and grass pitches include fully serviced options with hook-up, water and drainage, backed by modern shower blocks, laundrette, small shop and Wi-Fi across much of the park.

The family ownership and decades of careful management show in the detail—AA 5-star rating, Campsite of the Year recognition, David Bellamy Conservation Award—though some visitors note that a few facilities can feel a little tired in places. Whitby and the coast sit five miles away, Grosmont's steam railway is close by, and the wider Esk Valley opens onto gentler riverside walks when the moorland feels too bracing.

Pleasant place for camping not much around the area but good for a quiet break away. Not the best of places to take young children no ball games on the site etc

Excellent site, set in woodland, top class facilities. Excellent for dog walking and massive off lead area.

The majority of the park is taken with seasonal pitches, which in September 2024 seemed ghostly, with what appeared to be only 10 % occupied. It is set in a forest but very few trees over hung the pitches. Being a tree hugger, I loved it. It is set within easy access to Whitby and far enough away from noise of traffic. Toilet and shower were clean and quite modern. Barrier gates with key fob.

What a beautiful place best site we've ever visited. So peaceful so clean and well kept. Large level and well spaced out pitches. Great showers and clean bathrooms. Amazing dog run a really large grass area with long grasses all around my dog loved it. The wooded area was wonderful well kept paths lots of different tracks covers a huge area. Lots of wildlife deer's hare's squirrel's and birds. So close to Whitby bay too either drive or bus which is a great day out. Will definitely be making another booking soon.
