About Hudscales Farm Camping Barn
Tucked just outside Wigton with views towards the Lakeland Fells, Hudscales Farm Camping Barn offers an unpretentious base for exploring the western edges of the Lake District. The traditional barn setting delivers straightforward facilities—showers, toilets, drinking water—and welcomes families year-round, though pets aren't allowed and there's no WiFi, which purists might see as a bonus for a proper digital detox.
The location borders the national park and overlooks a charming village, putting you within easy reach of Cumbria's bigger draws without the crowds of honeypot sites further in. It's honest barn camping rather than luxury glamping, but sometimes that's exactly what you need for a touring base that won't break the bank.

What visitors say
Me and a friend stayed here for a night whilst on the Cumbria way the location made it a good place to stay for day 4. The host was amazing and the facilities are great there's a games room upstairs with a darts board and pool table. We had the barn to ourselves but I can imagine it would be alot of fun to share with others.

Such a fab impromptu stay on a winter night after a long day's walking. Arrived to a roaring fire and a friendly reception. What a fab rest stop, great place for walking the Cumbria Way ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don’t usually leave reviews but this place was great. We stayed for the weekend, 7 lads and the barn is amazing. If you want a nice simple get away in an amazing location don’t hesitate to book. Great hosts, Lovely walks and fantastic food in nearby village pubs. Wish I could give more stars!

We recently did the Cumbria Way and found that the Hudscales Camping Barn was ideally placed for the final night. The owners were super helpful and went out of their way to help when we forgot our sleeping bags, thank you. We would be more than happy to stay here again, just need to remember the sleeping bags
