About Lane Head Farm Country Guest House

Lane Head Farm Country Guest House is a two-storey former farmhouse near Penrith, now run as a small guest house with just seven rooms, which keeps things quiet and personal rather than hotel-like. Set in the Cumbrian countryside between the Lake District and the Eden Valley, it makes the most of its setting with garden and mountain views from the grounds.

Rooms are en-suite and come with drinks provided, and guests also have use of a shared kitchen and a lounge for relaxing after a day out. Breakfast is cooked to order, with vegetarian and vegan options available, and packed lunches can be arranged for anyone heading out walking or cycling. Outside there's a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating, plus a bar on site, cycle storage and free on-site parking. Pets are welcome.

The surrounding area suits walkers, cyclists and anglers, with fishing, cycling routes and walking trails all nearby, along with a pub, restaurant and eatery within easy reach. It's a straightforward base for exploring the Lake District and Eden Valley without needing to stay in the busier towns.

We have just finished our 4 day break here at Lane Head B&B. What a lovely experience and a hidden gem. Everything was perfect from start to end. The Room we had was No4 upstairs and had the most comfortable bed and pillows and an electric blanket to warm up before settling down for a good night's sleep. We were welcomed by the host Suruchi she was amazing throughout and nothing was a bother at all for her. We even watched a movie with her and made popcorn. Its location is perfect for those who wish to hike or cycle in the lakes and have somewhere amazing to stay afterwards the what3word grid is ///desktops.shield.shopper and will take you right there. There is a communal kitchen to have tea / coffee and snacks also a big screen TV. The breakfast was a full vegetarian also continental options available. There's also a hot tub outside which we didnt use. Its also dog friendly in certain rooms. The gardens are lovely with the most stunning views. There's a wood burning fire which was lovely. We will definitely be booking here again and we would highly recommend this B&B. Thank you Suruchi for making us welcomed and for the lovely flowers on our departure. See you again. John & Jo x x

Amazing stay in a four poster bed which was so comfy and cozy. Exposed ancient beams line the ceiling and the walls, but with all the mod cons of en suite toilet and electric showers. Spacious bedroom and bathroom simpethically restored. The property is so inviting with lovely grounds to walk around, with a sitting room and kitchen, available to guests for use and it was all so home from home. Yesh was so helpful and welcoming when we arrived and Suruchi was so warm and friendly and on hand with all help and advice as was needed. Brilliant centre of things and very relaxing unless you tackle the hills viewed from the garden. Can't recommend this placed enough and we only stayed one night as we were in transit from North of Scotland to South of England for a wedding, but next time a week would be brilliant. Thank you so much. Blessings Paula and Mike

We stayed a weekend at Lane Head Farm Country Guest House and had a great experience. The location is superb, offering countryside tranquillity with a quick connection to the many walking locations the Lake District has to offer. There's a modern kitchen open to guests and a cosy lounge area as well as a hot tub in the garden with some cracking views. The owner, Suruchi, saw to it that we had everything we needed and was attentive to our needs. She also gave me a cake on my birthday, which was incredibly generous and far beyond what I'd expect of a B&B host. The breakfasts served were all unique and delicious, based on seasonal ingredients and our preferences. The room was spacious, clean, and well equipped. The beds were particularly comfy, which offer a real luxury of duvets under and over where you sleep - like nothing we've ever experienced but incredibly comfortable. For the price we paid, we thought the B&B was great value for money. This B&B is a true gem of the Lake District and a must for vegans or vegetarians.

We had a pleasant 1-night stay. Suruchi was very friendly and helpful, and I liked the way she placed large bouquets of fresh flowers all over the house. The continental breakfast was quite nice, and was served at a large table shared with other guests. Our room was a little crowded with little room on each side of the bed, and although the electric blanket was well-intended, when I crawled into bed, I found the hard plastic piece where the cord connected to the blanket digging into my shoulder, and I had to shift it closer to the edge of the bed to be able to sleep comfortably.
