What visitors say
This is an awesome place! They do some great work with the birds and such a good trip for families with kids. They put on regular flying displays with a variety of birds and the keepers are very knowledgeable. Also there is a cafe serving a good selection of hot and cold food and drinks and a nice gift shop with bird related items. Amazingly you can stay here overnight in their chalet style rooms though we have not stayed as we live rather close and instead have a family membership for the year. Great place to come for an hour, a day or a stay! Please visit and see some incredible birds on display.

I completed my 5-day course here in April 2026, and I could not possibly describe how happy it made me. The Raptor Foundation has a great collection of birds of prey, and I was privileged to temporarily be part of the team that feeds and flies them. I even managed to make some leather equipment that I fitted onto an owl straight away! The foundation also has a hospital, and in my five days there we released two birds and attended to another two. I was also extremely lucky to see a baby European eagle owl, which hatched the day before I had to leave. Overall, this was one of the best things I’ve done ever, and it would not be the same without Liz and her wonderful team. Thank you and hope to see you soon again!!

Great place. Sensibly priced. Not huge so easy to get around. Some beautiful birds and caring staff. Look on the website for different events. Nice little cafe and toddlers playarea. Please go and help fund. Also a little shop onsite and ample parking.

I have just completed the five-day course at the Raptor Foundation, and if anyone is thinking of getting into falconry, I would strongly suggest that this course is the bare minimum you should undertake. The centre is extremely well equipped for training, and I received plenty of hands-on experience, which is incredibly important when considering getting your first bird. The practical knowledge gained over the five days was invaluable. I cannot thank the staff enough for making it such an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Spending time at the centre also gives you a real insight into just how challenging it is to run a charity like this, and how much dedication and effort goes into the care of both their adopted and wild raptors. If anyone has negative thoughts or comments about the centre, I would encourage them to try to understand the reasons behind things before making any judgement. Thank you very much to Liz and all the staff.
