About Olivers Lodge Hotel

St Ives, on the River Great Ouse in Cambridgeshire, is a good base for walking and cycling along the water, and it's here that Olivers Lodge Hotel occupies a Victorian building on Needingworth Road. The hotel has 20 rooms, all straightforward and comfortable rather than showy, with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in-room and the option of family rooms for those travelling with children.

Facilities include an Indian restaurant on site along with a separate lounge bar, and free breakfast is included for guests. Room service, free WiFi and luggage storage are all available, and there are meeting rooms for anyone combining a stay with work. Free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward.

Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area offers golf, cycling and walking routes, plus a scattering of pubs, bars and restaurants nearby for evenings out. It suits guests after a no-frills, well-located stay in St Ives rather than a luxury break.

Friendly staff and nice main building with lovely breakfast area. Room was a little rough and ready, though comfortable enough and warm. Shower a little poor and some mould and dirt in the bathroom. Nothing major though and I wasn't worried about hygeine. Not a great choice of breakfast for vegetarians, but what was served was good quality. Coffee average.

Decent size room, mattress not overly comfortable, bathroom bright and clean, breakfast was brought to my room and was of great quality, probably too much food tbh, staff were really polite and welcoming, plenty of parking. Hotel situated close to town center, within walking distance to restaurants and pubs. Good value for money, no noise from other guests

The most horrible room, staff and manger are rude and impolie and treat the guest as low profile people. Very rude and unprofessional and forget about cleaning. The room was booked by the Cambridge city council for an emergency matter. And I can't even sit in the bed the first thing in the morning and I'm gone. I can only sit on the bed which stinks and smells like fried oil. S

Good location, very friendly staff. The room was stifling hot however and could do with refurbishment in general. The room poorly laid out, making it difficult to use the mirrors and there was no pressure for the shower. The full english breakfast was serviceable. Very easy 5 minute to St Ives town centre.
