Lavender Lea comes with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, so you can cook properly or keep things simple. Both bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms with bath and shower; one has a double bed, the other two singles. The open-plan living space includes a freeview television and french doors opening onto your own garden with seating.
The real draw is what lies next door. The property overlooks a 3-acre cottage garden which guests can visit free of charge during opening hours (Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 4.30pm). On-site there's a family-run tearoom serving homemade cakes, cream teas and light lunches. The gardens attract buzzards, red kites and pheasants, along with songbirds feeding on flower seed heads through the year. A small sitting area in your own garden makes a quiet spot for an afternoon with a book.
Salisbury's cathedral lies 12 miles away. Within a mile you'll find a pub, restaurant and local shops. The New Forest, with its heath, woodland and free-roaming ponies, is also close by. The property is adults only (no children under 8), and smoking is not permitted. There is on-site parking.
