About The Connaught Hotel Wolverhampton
Sixty rooms make up The Connaught Hotel Wolverhampton, set back on Tettenhall Road within easy reach of the town centre and local transport links. Free on-site parking is a useful draw for drivers, and each room comes with an en-suite bathroom, with family rooms available for those travelling in a group.
On site there's a bar for a quiet drink, plus room service and in-room drinks for those who'd rather not go far. Free WiFi and a lift add to the practical side of things, and luggage storage is available for early arrivals or late departures. Staff are consistently described as helpful and service is a genuine strong point, and the beds are noted as comfortable, though some rooms have been found lacking in upkeep and not every advertised facility is always in place, so it's worth setting expectations accordingly.
Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area offers a pub or bar, a restaurant, and further eateries nearby, along with entertainment options, golf, and fishing for those wanting to fill a day out. It's a straightforward, fairly priced base for exploring Wolverhampton rather than a destination in itself.

What guests say
Disgusting and unacceptable. Avoid this hotel. I stayed for 2 nights and the room was in very poor condition. The bathroom was dirty and badly maintained, with mouldy grout, exposed holes around the toilet pipework, rusty fittings, a cracked sink, and dirt around the bath and toilet. The carpet was stained, and the table/furniture was dirty and damaged. My access card also stopped working at the back entrance through the car park. I called reception, but nobody came, and I only got in because another guest came out. On the second day there was no hot water, so I had to take a freezing cold shower. The shower hose is also around 50 cm, so you practically have to shower on your knees. This place needs urgent attention and is not acceptable for paying guests. I would not stay here again.

Person on a front desk during day time is not friendly. He refused to show the room. He gave the room with dirty pillow cover. No shower head. Toilet drain pipe was leaking. Negligible thing is there is tv in a room but without remote😂. Front desk man mentioned that once he gives the key card after that there is no refund although if you comeback to reception within 2 mins. After one hour when i mentioned him about the room he said you could have let me know before😂. Positive point is person on a front desk at night time is helpful. A big No to this hotel specifically if you are planning to come here day time.

I booked this hotel as a surprise for my partner and his father so they could spend some quality time together. Unfortunately, what they arrived to was completely unacceptable and nothing like what was advertised. The photos on Booking.com make this place look like a pleasant, welcoming hotel. In reality, it is anything but. The listing advertises a bar, a café/restaurant serving from 7am daily, and a proper lobby area. None of these existed. There was no food, no drinks, no bar, and no café. In short, none of the basic facilities that were clearly advertised. When they arrived, the place looked more like a building site than a hotel. It felt unsafe from the moment they walked in. Fire doors were being propped open, which is both dangerous and against basic fire safety regulations. The bedroom conditions were just as bad. The room was dirty, the shower had visible mould, there was no toilet brush, the window handle was broken, and the carpet was covered in marks. Even the bed sheets were too small for the bed and kept pinging off throughout the night, which just added to how ridiculous the whole experience was. The entire building felt damp and smelled unpleasant. £120 for a night in a place like this is frankly outrageous. After driving 7½ hours and arriving at 8pm expecting to eat at the restaurant you advertise, to then discover there is no food available at all is beyond frustrating. This place is completely misrepresented online and should not be advertised the way it is. If negative stars were an option, this would absolutely deserve them.

The Connaught hotel Wolverhampton If you want something budget that’s an absolute cheap hole by all means ! But I won’t be ever again! Firstly the ring door bell is broken…. You walk in to be greeted with a lovely bar area but the rest is a dive! Even the remote didn’t have a back and tv only worked on selected channels Staff were blunt and not really accommodating. weird you didn’t get your key in a key card considering it’s suppose to be a great western hotel. On arriving in our room we didn’t need to even look around found lots of issues. Shame work men have to be so loud at 5am in the morning and have no consideration for others and shout up and down the corridor You really need to re do your rooms or simply sort them out properly! Bar area seemed to be more important than the rooms…. Lift is out of use so if you’re having limited mobility it’s a joke…. Plastic spoon for your tea and coffee Dare not use the water coming out of the tap as it had a brown tinge to it Our room lock didn’t even work don’t waste your money or time on this place I don’t know how you can run a business take money of genuine people and call it a hotel 🏨 must be so proud of yourselves We had to put a chair in front of the door bathroom lock was invisible
