About Huntlands Farm

Huntlands Farm is a farmhouse conversion turned bed and breakfast on Gaines Road, just outside Worcester in the Worcestershire countryside. The property keeps a working-farm character, with just five rooms furnished to a comfortable, homely standard rather than a large hotel feel, and grounds that include a garden and free on-site parking.

Rooms come with the usual comforts of air conditioning, free WiFi and drinks, and mornings bring a home-cooked breakfast with a good range of choices. Guests also have use of a bar, restaurant, indoor swimming pool and lift, and the site doubles as a wedding venue with concierge services on hand. A distinctive extra is the upholstery courses run on site, which visitors have found genuinely well taught and hands-on.

The setting is quiet and rural, with friendly farm animals adding to the relaxed, at-home atmosphere the hosts create. It suits anyone after a peaceful base near Worcester, whether for a simple overnight stay or a longer visit built around learning a new craft.

Have just returned from a wonderful stay at Huntlands B&B while attending Lucy’s 5-day upholstery course, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. From the moment we arrived with our projects and fabric, the course got underway. The days flew by as we learned new skills, asked questions, took advice, and encouraged one another in our small group of five. Lucy is an excellent teacher — patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. She demonstrated techniques clearly, shared plenty of useful tips and tricks, and always knew exactly when to step in and help without ever taking over the work herself. We were each provided with a box of tools to borrow and there was a great stock of upholstery materials, if required. The workshop was warm and welcoming each morning thanks to the wood-burning stove, and Lucy always began the day by outlining realistic goals for each of us, which really helped keep us focused and motivated. Delicious cake, hot drinks, and lovely lunches made the experience even more enjoyable and gave us time to reflect on our progress. By Friday, our chairs were completed, I’d gained a whole new skill, and I’d made some lovely new friends along the way. What a fantastic way to spend a few days away while discovering a beautiful part of the country.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We stayed as Huntslands part of a week-long upholstery course. Everything was excellent. Great rooms, amazingly comfy bed, beautiful surroundings & countryside and especially delicious food & wine. But most of all we were made to feel incredibly at home and relaxed. Thank you to Lucy, Steve, Lynne and Anais.

This is my third visit to do an upholstery course with Lucy. It’s like a mini retreat with something to show at the end of it. The b&b and farm are beautiful and tranquil with loads of character and history and lots of lovely animals at touching distance. Lucy is an excellent teacher and creates an environment in which you can create successfully at your own pace.
