Premier Inn Worcester City Centre

A great hotel near the centre of Worcester. We stayed in a Premier Plus room which included a coffee machine, fridge and had views over the cricket ground. The location is fantastic within easy walking distance of the City Centre. There is parking outside the hotel, however there are cheaper alternative nearby. We parked our car at Tybridge Street Car Park which cost £4.90 for 24 hours and was within easy walking distance. Breakfast was great with a good selection. The rooms could do with a bit of TLC but we only paid £52 for the night so can’t complain. Overall a great place to stay when visiting Worcester.

Check in took longer than I probably should have, but was otherwise fine. Room was comfortable and clean - although there was a massive water stain and missing plaster on the ceiling. Air conditioning was a blessing in the heat wave. Room prices were hiked up due to there being a cricket match on during our 4-night stay. We couldn't care less about cricket. The car park situation is disgraceful.

Arrived and the car park was closed for the cricket which nobody told us about, all we had was a slightly aggressive guy saying “ it’s not for the premier in and only for cricket fans”! Booked early check in from 11am, arrived at 12:30pm and the room still wasn’t ready. 20mins later, room was finally available and they still charged us the full £15 and no apology. Not a great start but gave them the benefit of doubt. Rooms are a bit grubby and seen better days, beds are comfy though. Skip to breakfast the next day, they completely ran out of hot food and the queue was out the door, waited 20ish mins for food at a buffet line and they honestly need more staff to handle the breakfast rush. All in all, terrible and would never stay here again. Premier inn has really gone downhill in my mind but the price has gone up.

Well located hotel and the rooms were clean and a reasonable size which is what you would anticipate from Premier. However this is probably the worst Premier experience in terms of services that we have had. Issues with booking in, even trying to use self check in, big delays when you get maybe a few trying to check in at the same time as they are running this on a minimal staffing level. This was reflected on returning in the evening as the bar and restaurant area well very crowded which is where this Premier I feel struggles. Breakfast was probably the worst in terms of management I have experienced in using a wide range of hotel facilities in the UK and globally. Wait times for food to be made available on the buffet had generated extensive queues, and ultimately the food became cold due to the wait times. It was clear the hotel was probably at capacity from the communal areas which is where we feel they struggled.
