Howe Cottage
Aberdeenshire
Photo: Google Maps
Laurencekirk sits on the edge of Aberdeenshire's glens and within striking distance of the coast, making it a natural base for exploring northeast Scotland. Howe Cottage is a semi-detached property on a quiet street, with everything on the ground floor: an open-plan living and dining space with French doors onto a patio and enclosed garden, two bedrooms, and a shower room. One bedroom has a king bed, the other two singles that can be zipped together as a double.
The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, and the usual appliances—while the living area has a Smart TV and Netflix if the weather turns. Bed linen, towels, heating, and Wi-Fi are provided. There's parking on the road and at a nearby public car park. One dog stays free, and the owners leave a welcome pack plus doggy extras; a travel cot and highchair are available on request. No smoking in the property.
Montrose, St Cyrus and Lunan Bay beaches are within reach for a day trip, while the Angus Glens offer serious walking and wildlife. Stonehaven market town is close by, with shops, cafés and an outdoor swimming pool. The local area also supports golf, fishing, cycling and horse riding.
