Gardenstown sits on the Moray Firth coastline in northeast Scotland, built into red sandstone cliffs that drop to a working harbour below. The village is small—galleries, craft workshops, a restaurant and tea room line the streets—but the setting is dramatic, with dolphins sometimes visible in the bay and the water meeting the cliffs in both directions. The Gables is tucked down a quiet alley near the seafront, with a rear terrace that looks out over the bay.
The cottage holds four people across two bedrooms: a double with sea views and a twin. The sitting room has a log fire and opens into a fitted kitchen with a breakfast area. One bathroom with an electric shower is tucked under the stairs; the headroom is limited there. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The property is non-smoking.
A short walk takes you to the harbour, the beach and the cliff-top path towards Crovie. An 11th-century chapel stands nearby. The area draws visitors for its coastal walks and the Moray Firth's reputation as one of the world's best-rated coastlines.
