The Windowky

The Windowky is a two-storey coastal cottage in Gardenstown, Aberdeenshire, built from the same stone as the traditional fisherman's houses that line the village. It sits among the narrow streets of this hillside settlement, where the harbour and pitched roofs of centuries-old cottages face the water. The property faces the sea across a private front garden with seating and a BBQ, with the beach just 20 yards away.

Downstairs is an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space, warmed by a woodburner. The kitchen has an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. Upstairs, the double bedroom looks out over the bay, and the bathroom has a bath with shower over. The property is yours alone—one bedroom, one bathroom, sleeping two. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. There's a washing machine in an external utility room. One dog stays free. The Garden Arms Hotel is within walking distance, and other pubs and restaurants are nearby.

Gardenstown is built on a slope with steps throughout, and there are shallow stairs up to the property entrance, which may not suit those with mobility difficulties. Parking is available on road 20 yards away, or in the free public car park at the end of the walkway. No smoking inside.
