About Altskeith Country House

Altskeith Country House starts the day properly, with a full breakfast served before guests head out to explore, and winds it down again with a drink from the on-site bar. There's also outdoor seating and a picnic area for making the most of the garden and the loch views, plus kids' meals available for families travelling together.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks provided, and free WiFi, with family rooms and accessible rooms among the options, so different types of guests are catered for. The property also has a bridal suite and meeting rooms, making it a option for weddings and small gatherings, and free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward.

Aberfoyle itself sits within easy reach for walking, fishing and watersports, and there are pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby for evenings out beyond the hotel bar. Luggage storage and 24-hour reception round out the practical side of a stay here.

The location is the only positive thing about this property. Everything else was a terrible experience. The host was extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, and showed no respect for her guests. Instead of addressing concerns professionally, she raised her voice and threatened to call the police despite us doing absolutely nothing wrong. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and made us feel unwelcome. The room was also not clean. We found a spider inside, which raises serious concerns about the property’s cleanliness and maintenance. I would strongly advise anyone considering this place to avoid it. There is a resort about a mile down the road that offers a far better experience and is well worth choosing instead. I would never stay here again and cannot recommend this property to anyone.

OMG this place is gorgeous!! The room was amazing and so beautiful (and quiet, with a stream outside). Dinner and breakfast great, fresh and tasty. Hosts were lovely and we wished we were staying longer. Highly recommend for couples.

We enjoyed an overnight at this wonderful house and location with Alison and Yas. Hospitality and food are superb, the location and views are stellar. Take your trail running shoe as well as your walking boots, and your warm swimmers.. what a treat.

Altskeith Country House is perfection! We stayed for 2 nights of our summer holidays trip and even the kids (7 & 13) said they felt like we could have stayed there forever. Lovely warm welcome and made to feel at home straight away, the food was delicious and the view when sat eating breakfast is unreal. You really do feel a sense of peace there. Alison and Yas have really made the house and grounds something special and they are the most lovely welcoming people. Already planning our return trip :)
