About Aberlour Hotel
A bowl of Cullen Skink here has built something of a reputation, and it sets the tone for the Aberlour Hotel's approach to food: generous portions, with a genuine effort made to cater for gluten-free and dairy-free diets. The restaurant and bar are open to residents and passers-by alike, and breakfast is included for those staying over.
The hotel sits on the High Street in Aberlour, Moray, in the heart of Speyside's whisky country, making it a practical base for exploring nearby distilleries and the surrounding countryside. Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, and guests can also make use of the garden and picnic area, free WiFi, and 24 hour reception. Free on-site parking is provided, and pets are welcome.
Outside the hotel there's fishing, walking routes, and further pubs and restaurants within easy reach. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, though service has occasionally been described as brisk at busier times. Prices are considered fair for what's on offer, making it a straightforward, comfortable stop in the middle of Aberlour.
What guests say
Had lunch there today, waiting staff with long hair not tied up and midriff showing on another member who served us. I dont want a belly button in my face when I'm giving my order. Asked for half pint of lemonade, was given a pint, was she even listening to me??? Food came and it wasn't hot. Served by the kitchen staff, where was the waitress? She certainly.wasnt busy. Man at next table was given his can of ginger beer dumped on table and she walked away before he could ask for glass. Paid for meal and waitress couldnt be bothered with us.. she wasnt rude as such but certainly not polite. Wasn't even worth the miserable £2 tip I left. Table was sticky, not with food but with whatever they use to wipe them. Not great standards.

We had a wonderful time at the Hotel Aberlour, the food was excellent, plentiful and delicious as well as reasonably priced. The staff absolutely made our visit memorable, in particular Kelly who went above and beyond in our time of need. Thank you! 🙏

We were in for dinner last night and the service was atrocious. The lady who was "attending" to us was extremely rude, very abrupt and neither warm, friendly, or professional whatsoever. Very disappointing as we've been here several times before and the staff are generally bright, bubbly and very friendly

We were only here for lunch, which was delicious. We had their famous, award-winning Cullen Skink with a twist. Which is a bowl of super yummy haddock chowder with crunchy bacon, onion chips, mushrooms and egg. Amazingly good.
