About Maes Y Mor

Maes Y Mor suits visitors after an easy, no-fuss stay rather than a polished hotel experience - families on a budget, walkers passing through, or anyone happy to cook their own meals and come and go as they please. This is a straightforward guesthouse on Bath Street in Aberystwyth, with 24 hour reception and free on-site parking making arrivals simple whatever time you get in.

Rooms are kept simple and laid-back, with family rooms available and drinks provided in-room. Guests have use of a communal kitchen, handy for self-catering, along with free WiFi, laundry service and luggage storage for those breaking up a longer trip. There's also a garden to sit out in when the weather allows.

The location puts the seafront and town centre within easy reach, with the Vale of Rheidol Railway among the local points of interest. Pubs, restaurants and eateries are all close by, and there's a walking area nearby too, plus golf and fishing for those wanting to fill a day outdoors.

Be wary this property is not as advertised: No free parking and not sufficient heating. - It has no free onsite parking due to scaffolding for building work blocking the access. We were not warned beforehand and when we arrived were told we could park in the layby opposite during the allowable parking times. This is not 24 hour free parking and finding parking in Aberystwyth can be very tricky. -The room and whole building was freezing cold with only small electric heaters throughout, not sufficient for the space. Owners were helpful at the point of entry and taking the money but not helpful, in fact ignored us, when we asked for a refund because the property was not as advertised. If you are looking for a warm space with accessible rooms and free parking- this is not for you.

Great location, I would definitely stay again, a bit uncoordinated decor, but who cares when you're paying £60 quid a night to be a few seconds from the beach, pretty clean, not perfect, but who is lol, I liked the communal kitchen, met some lovely people had a curryokie night , BUT..... parking absolutely terrible, we had to move our car at least 6 times in 3 days, so be prepared if you're driving.

The property is fantastically located in the town centre a stones throw away from everything you need and the beach! The rooms are clean, tidy, and have everything you need with a bonus of the shared kitchen there's no need to eat out saving plenty of money during a stay! The owners were helpful with clear check in instructions and promptly replying to any questions we had and also made some great recommendations on a lovely evening meal! What a delightful, quaint, and pleasant guest house... what else could you possible need?! The property doesn't serve breakfast but by no means is this a negative as there are plenty of options within minutes of walking!

Great little guest house in Aber - stayed here three times now. Works fine for visiting our child at uni. Bedroom is fine, comfy and clean. Shared bathroom also clean. Car parking at the rear is helpful, though can be tight. Location is great so close to sea front.
