Dropped in for a couple of pints with a few friends and to enjoy a view of the sea, as we don't get it very often. Everything about The Glengower ticks a box for me - the style and decor of the place (and what feels like 3 different bar spaces in one building), the variety and quality of the drink and the provenance - each of the real ales gets a description and marks the distance to the brewery, kept really well and a really nice pint. I wished we'd stayed for dinner as the menu and the food that was coming out looked fantastic

We've just had a wonderful over night stay. Very warm welcome. Lovely room with panoramic sea view on the 2nd floor. Hotel looks newly refurbished, with the rooms well equipped for comfort. Breakfast was freshly cooked and excellent choices. Will definitely be returning

We've been coming to Aberystwyth for many, many years now, about 2-3 time per year now; unfortunately our usual hotel wasn't avaliable so we thought we'd give this immensely popular venue a try. The Room (No.23) 99% 🙂 Check-in was quick and efficient and our room was spacious, warm l, comfortably and furnished and clean, with spectacular views across Cardigan Bay. The only minor thing was the coffee table beneath the window, which looked tired and worn but a sand, re-stain and varnish will soon put that right. The food. (dinner) The first thing I noticed was the extensive menu. In fact I would say excessively so. 12 starters, 15 mains and 8 desserts is in my opinion, somewhat OTT. The pressure on the kitchens to not only remember all the recipes but also have sufficient storage space to keep all the ingredients without running out must be considerable, not to mention the time it takes for diners to peruse an overwhelming choice. Why not try a straightforward 6/6/6 split, thus allowing your chefs to put their skills into producing great dishes instead of the standard, "usual hotel fare" or even create a Glengower 'signature dish'. Breakfast. Good choice of hot and cold options available, ready to set you up for the day! Overall. Very impressed, definitely worth a try, but be sure to spend time looking at the eclectic mix of drawings, pictures and paintings on the wall as their are some real gems there! Price wise, it's reasonable and compares well to other hotels in the location.

Beautiful old-fashioned but very well maintained building. The room was spacious, cozy, clean and offered an excellent view of the ocean with chairs to sit by the windows. Breakfast included a small buffet together with included à la carte menu items. The restaurant was also great. It’s located a bit further away from the train station but is easy to find.
