About Alcester Inn
Alcester Inn occupies a period building on St Faiths Road, the kind of old coaching-style inn that has long served travellers passing through this part of Warwickshire. It now holds 34 rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, and there are family and accessible options among them, along with drinks available in room and free WiFi throughout.
The restaurant and bar form the heart of the place, serving generous, well-liked meals alongside breakfast and kids' menus, with outdoor seating, a garden and picnic area for warmer days. Free on-site parking and 24 hour reception add practical ease, though some rooms show their age and could do with better upkeep. Staff are consistently described as friendly and the overall atmosphere welcoming, which goes some way to explaining why guests rate it as good value.
Alcester itself sits within easy reach of Stratford-upon-Avon, and the inn is close to a golf course, pubs, restaurants and other eateries, with entertainment nearby too. It suits those wanting a comfortable, affordable base for exploring Warwickshire rather than a polished, modern hotel experience.

What guests say
Lovely little place. All the staff are so friendly which is why the five stars all the way through. For the price you can’t beat i. Food was very nice too. Bus to Stratford stops right outside if you fancy a wee day out. Other pubs in Alcester close by.

The Inn is a good value for money option in a really nice location - easily accessible but in a quiet location. They seem to manage the often slightly clashing needs of the pub part Vs hotel really well and I always have a quiet stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with everything you need in good condition. The food options are well varied and good value for money, but there's also local alternatives if you prefer. Parking is plentiful with a lot of space to accommodate any style of vehicles.

Alcester itself is a lovely town, and the welcome at The Alcester Inn was warm. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout, the car park is easy, and the bar facilities are adequate. I wanted to share an honest account of the room, though, as the photographs online set an expectation the accommodation did not meet. There were some positives. The sink and toilet were clean and there was plenty of hot water. Unfortunately there was hair in the shower and the carpet looked overdue a vacuum, when I moved the bedside tables there was a lot of dust, cobwebs and dead bugs. The bathroom had no shelves, hooks or towel rails, so nowhere to put anything down or hang a towel to dry. The bigger issues were a very strong smell of damp and a good deal of black mould in the bathroom on every surface. along with corroded metal fixtures. There was no hairdryer provided either. Black mould is a health hazard, this room should not be inhabited in this state Our room also faced directly onto the beer garden. The blinds had to stay closed for privacy, and music, shouting and swearing carried on well into the night, which affected our sleep. Fireworks were let off at midnight by some of the clientele which was not welcomed ! I imagine this would be less of a problem in the colder months when the garden is quieter. One last thing worth flagging. Food is advertised until 8pm, but when we tried to order at 7.45pm we were told the kitchen had already closed. The team are clearly doing their best on the hospitality side, and with some attention to the rooms this could be a much better stay. We were charged a premium as it was a busy weekend which left us feeling ripped off. This was a £50 a night room at best. Charging more without improving the quality is taking the micky. There a great many review similar to this one. Can someone please clean the rooms they are letting you down hugely.

We stayed here for two nights so can only comment on the room as we did not eat here but the staff we met were friendly and accommodating. We paid a premium I think as it was the weekend of the Air show so had we only paid what is advertised now I understand it’s like a budget hotel. The downstairs room was adequate however it smelt of damp and a lot of fixings were rusty. Bed was hard and uncomfortable. Pillows were good and It had a small hanging area for clothes. Nowhere in the bathroom had a towel rail or shelf to put anything. It smelt very damp and was mouldy in the room but the shower was powerful and we had hot water The room was right outside the beer garden so not quiet. Staff we met were pleasant and friendly and the pub itself was busy. We did not drink or eat here so as I said above I cannot comment on that. Would we stay here again then it would be a no but location was good.
