About Travelodge Stratford Alcester

Just off the A435 at the Oversley Mill Roundabout south of Alcester, Travelodge Stratford Alcester sits on the edge of the Warwickshire countryside within easy reach of the Worcestershire border, making it a straightforward base for exploring the region rather than a destination in itself. The surrounding roads give quick access towards Stratford-upon-Avon, so it suits anyone touring the area by car.

The hotel has 66 rooms across two floors, each with an en-suite bathroom and the option of having drinks brought to the room. Accessible rooms are available, and pets are welcome. Rooms are generally kept clean and spacious with comfortable beds, though some visitors have found certain rooms less well maintained than others, so it's worth setting modest expectations on presentation.

Practical extras include free on-site parking, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis at the front of the hotel, an electric vehicle charge point, and 24-hour reception for late arrivals or early starts. Staff are often described as friendly, though service can occasionally be patchy. For the price, it offers a functional, well-located stop for those heading into Stratford-upon-Avon or touring the surrounding countryside.

We had a disappointing experience during our stay recently. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and housekeeping standards were below expectations. We found a dead moth underneath the blanket on the bed linen, there were stains on the towels, and dust was noticeable throughout the room. In addition, the ventilation was poor and noise levels during the stay were quite disruptive. I reported the issue with the bed linen to reception, but was advised to contact customer service instead. I felt this could have been handled more helpfully at the time. Additionally, while our car was parked in the area adjacent to the hotel, it was involved in a hit-and-run incident. I understand this may not be a private hotel car park and that CCTV may not be available. However, it would be helpful if this could be made clearer on the hotel website, as the parking area may appear to guests to be associated with the hotel. This would allow customers to make more informed decisions before booking. Overall, the experience was disappointing and did not meet the standards we had expected.

Overall for a one night stay this wasn’t the worst place. When we arrived we waited at the reception for 15-20 minutes before anyone arrived to check us in. When she arrived she was not apologetic and let’s just say customer service was not her thing. The corridors smelt really strongly of damp and the smell did sometimes seep into the room. The room overall was okay, the double bed in the room was not uncomfortable. However the two single beds were very hard and were more like camping beds. Also, there is only one very thin pillow on each bed, so if you do stay and can bring your own pillow I would highly recommend it. The room was clean enough other than cobwebs that seemed to line the edge of the ceiling. Like I said for a one night stay with the proximity to Stratford Upon Avon and having a McDonald’s and Costa opposite it isn’t too bad. But for any longer than one night I would reconsider!!

Very disappointing stay at the hotel. Room was very basic but comfy bed. However, when I was going to bed I realised that there was no plug sockets next to the bed.I suffer from obstructive sleep apnoea and couldn't use my machine.I didn't sleep well. I was exhausted all day and I shouldn't of driven from the hotel but I was working away. I would advise the hotel to change the sockets to have a plug socket with usb charger in socket.
