Woodland-set touring, camping and glamping park near Saxmundham, eight miles from Aldeburgh
About Cakes and Ale Holiday Park
Cakes and Ale is a spacious holiday park set among mature woodland and open glades near Saxmundham, about eight miles from Aldeburgh. Long established as a family-friendly base for exploring the Suffolk coast, it combines touring and camping pitches with static caravans and glamping accommodation spread across a wooded estate, giving many pitches natural screening and shade. The rural setting means it works equally well as a quiet retreat for walkers heading into the Suffolk Sandlings or as a family holiday destination in its own right.
On-site facilities are geared towards longer family stays, with an indoor swimming pool and leisure complex, a shop, a play area and well-maintained shower blocks. Electric hookups are available across most of the touring area, and children's activities run through the main summer season. The park's location just off the A12 makes it a convenient base for day trips to Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings, Thorpeness and the RSPB reserve at Minsmere, while still feeling tucked away once inside the wooded grounds. Dogs are welcome in designated areas.

Booked this site as we have family who reside on the site. Booked in advance and payments were being made. Booked for middle of August for a week so children can spend some quality time with grand parents. Got a call they have cancelled. The fact is they cancelled as building work is taking place in the local town and they cancelled obtain more money from a contractor for builders to stay in than an agreed family and price. Emailed to complaints …. No response.forced to book another place costing more money for less time as been left so late to book. Awful

Had a lovely stay here for the weekend, the park is beautiful and kept to a high standard. The Touring block was kept clean and fresh! The new Restaurant/Bar is such an upgrade and does some amazing food. All staff across the park are wonderful, welcoming and pleasant. Thankyou for a great stay, Will be back again!

Excellent evening in the refurbished yoxford boys bar on site. Food was amazing and the singer was very good. People up dancing and singing along. Lovely atmosphere and the staff all very friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant are open to the public and I can recommend both of them.

We loved this site, it is so well laid out and the toilets and showers were great, this was the most friendliest site we have stayed on in our tour of the area, the warden Ken and the barmaid Grace were very welcoming and great company during our stay, ( Ken was off duty). We really enjoyed our stay and sorry we didn't stay longer. Nothing was too much trouble as Ken explained to everyone that if they needed anything, he would sort it for them. The site is not far from the town and only about 20 mins walk. I would recommend this site for everyone touring the area.
