Run Cottage Touring Park

Alderton Rd, Hollesley, Woodbridge IP12 3RQ, UK

Small, quiet touring park near Wickham Market, around ten miles from Aldeburgh

About Run Cottage Touring Park

Run Cottage is a small, adults-only touring park at Hollesley, between Woodbridge and the coast at Shingle Street. It has built a reputation on being calm and well run rather than on facilities you will never use, and returning visitors are a large part of its trade. The setting is level, sheltered and quiet, with mature planting breaking the site into smaller bays rather than one open field.

There are 45 pitches, all with electric hook-up. Fourteen are hardstanding and a number of those are fully serviced, with fresh water, grey waste drainage and a television socket at the pitch, which makes it a straightforward choice for larger motorhomes and for early or late season stays when grass can soften. The heated washblock is kept to a high standard, with laundry facilities on site and free wifi available throughout.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome and there's a large enclosed exercise area—more than most sites of this size provide. The adults-only policy means it isn't the place for a family holiday, but it's exactly right for couples touring the coast. Hollesley puts you within about fifteen minutes of Sutton Hoo and Woodbridge, twenty of Orford and its castle and oysterage, and half an hour of Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings. Shingle Street and the Bawdsey peninsula are close for walking, and Rendlesham Forest is nearby for cycling.

What visitors say

Julie “Good Dog Walker”

We've just returned from a short 2 night break. Well this site certainly raises the bar! Nice friendly and helpful owner. Grounds are beautifully kept and maintained. Pitches were spacious with close by EHU. Toilets, showers and washing area were spotless. Extremely dog friendly 🐾 bonus that it is also adults only. Highly recommend, we will definitely be back.

The best touring site we've been to. Amazing sized plots. Beautiful clean loos and showers. The grass is immaculate and the cuttings are collected up, big bonus! Sarah gave us a lovely welcome and a very useful map. The walk to Shingle Street from the campsite was great . Bawdsey Quay is a great visit. The coastline there is totally unique. The beach around the headland , beyond the manor is like something from walking with dinosaurs. It's strewn with felled trees and old WW2 gun emplacements. The coastline is really struggling there. Of course Sutton Hoo is very close by as is Woodbridge.

Excellent site , Very friendly. We only stopped 1 night as touring . Not good signal for WiFi but we were offered a tv package to watch football . Super dog friendly the 1st site i have stayed that as long as undercontrol leads not required.

Fantastuc site run by great owners. Lovely welcome and clear instructions. We had no problem refilling or emptying water tanks. There was an area for drive over grey water so cant understand why Paul has marked low for that. Brilliant site great and clean facilities and yes we are returning.
