About Rendlesham Camping
Tucked into 10 acres of Rendlesham Forest, this peaceful Forestry England site puts you at the trailhead of countless hiking and cycling routes, all within the Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape. Kids can build dens and forage for bugs among the trees, while a proper play area sits just five minutes' walk away by the main car park. After dark, minimal light pollution means the stargazing here is genuinely spectacular—bring a blanket and a flask. Facilities are clean and well-maintained, staff are welcoming, and the whole operation feels good value, though hot water can be a bit temperamental.
Beyond the forest, you're 15 minutes from both Woodbridge's market-town buzz and the Suffolk coast. History buffs shouldn't miss nearby Sutton Hoo, the Anglo-Saxon treasure trove, or the site of the 1980 Rendlesham Forest UFO incident—still one of Britain's most intriguing unexplained events.

What visitors say
Had a wonderful stay at Rendlesham Camping this past weekend. Pitches were clearly laid out with plenty of space. The campsite itself is wonderfully peaceful surrounded by gorgeous tall trees, my daughter particularly liked the open space in the centre of the site for playing and riding her bike, it was great to be able to keep her in sight from the pitch. The facilities were great too, showers hot, toilets regularly cleaned. The shop has a few essentials including milk, cold drinks, a good selection of ice creams which were reasonably priced and much needed given the temperature! There's a cafe a short walk away with a children's play park and trail which we enjoyed very much. We were very grateful for a pizza van on Friday night when we arrived. We look forward to returning. Thank you to the fab staff.

Excellent value for money. The location was beautiful and the shower and toilet facilities were good. I appreciated that the building stayed warm in the evenings. The email sent prior to your stay had great info on the trails available. Definitely worth a read, but it’s a massive forest — you could just wing it if you’d rather explore. Staff were helpful and I liked seeing them do odd jobs throughout the day ( like filling in the rabbit holes )

Camp site is amazing for families. The facilities are basic but adequate and sufficient for what you would need for a week's camping. Staff are friendly and helpful The little shop has a small contingency of stock mainly ice creams but it was 30degrees so very much needed. Nestled right in the heart of Rendlesham forest you are a skip away from the many trails that go showcase how incredible the area is.

Nice and basic. Plenty of room, shower buttons inside cubicles rather than outside for convenience. Not much shelter when washing up, no reception/tv signal. Investment is needed in the park still tbh, the cafe round the corner is a takeaway cabin. Lovely walks and most important, memories for us !
