🏡 Self-Catering Cottage 🐾 Pets Welcome

Burnmouth

Burnmouth sits within Glenprosen, one of Angus's celebrated glens at the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. The 6,000-acre Balnaboth Estate surrounds the cottage with mixed woodland, open pasture and heather moorland where red squirrels, otters and deer move through the landscape. A river runs through the grounds—fenced in places but present—and the garden looks out across this rural setting with patio space and furniture for warmer months.

The cottage is detached and entirely yours, with both bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor: one double with ensuite shower, one with twin singles and an ensuite bath. The open-plan living area includes a kitchen fitted for everyday cooking, a wood-burning stove, and comfortable seating. Electricity, bed linen and towels are covered. Parking for two cars is on site. One dog is welcome, though smoking is not. The Gardener's Bothy lies nearby if you want a destination walk or some context for the estate's Victorian sporting heritage.

The setting suits those seeking quiet rather than activity—there are no shops, restaurants or attractions listed as part of the property information. What you get instead is seclusion within working land, the sound of water, and the daily movement of wildlife around you.
