Glentairie Cottage

Glentairie Cottage sits alone on moorland within the Balnaboth Estate, a sprawling Victorian sporting property in Glenprosen. The 6,000 acres here stretch from beech woods and forest to heather moor and river valleys, with wildlife that includes red squirrels, otters, deer, and bird species now rare elsewhere in Britain. Walking, mountain biking, fishing on the River Prosen, and winter skiing at Glen Shee are all within reach of the cottage, as are twenty golf courses within an hour's drive.

The cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps five, with one bathroom and a living space that opens onto a garden. There is parking on site. Bed linen and towels are provided, and the kitchen is equipped for self-catering. An open fire and Freeview television are available in the living room. One dog is welcome. The cottage is a former shepherd's or gardener's cottage from the estate's working past.

Kirriemuir is a few minutes' drive away, and the Angus coast lies within easy reach; Dundee, with its contemporary art centre and observatory, is also nearby. The seclusion of the glen itself is the draw—the surrounding moorland and woodland are the main reason people come here.
