Carnoustie's championship golf course and long sandy beach are within reach, as are the Angus glens inland and the charming fishing villages dotting this stretch of coast. The Servant's Hall occupies a refurbished wing of a country house set within six acres of private, fully enclosed grounds—useful if you have a dog, and reassuring if you're travelling with small children.

Three bedrooms, each with a zip-and-link bed that converts to twins if needed, sit on the ground floor alongside a bathroom with both bath and shower. One bedroom has its own en-suite. The living and dining space opens onto a patio through French doors, with a woodburner for cooler evenings and enough seating for the whole party. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, including a dishwasher and washer-dryer. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; the woodburner comes stocked with initial fuel.

Guests share access to a hot tub (bookable for private use), a tennis court with equipment provided, and a gym. Your own parking covers two cars. The garden has furniture and a barbecue. No smoking inside the property.
