Seaprobe Atlantis

We were booked to take a trip on the Seaprobe Atlantis last week and the trip was unable to go ahead due to a technical issue. However, we were offered a trip on The Spirit of Adventure instead. I didn’t have time to plan anything else on short notice so we accepted the alternative. And we were so glad we did! We were greeted in Kyle of Lochalsh by our friendly and enthusiastic skipper, Michael. He gave a choice of following a similar route to the Seaprobe or going out to sea with a possibility of seeing a pod of dolphins that he had spotted earlier that day - of course we chose the dolphins! We set off with Michael giving some excellent commentary about the local wildlife, landscape and geology. We saw cormorants, shags, gannets and skuas and drove under the Skye bridge. After circling for a while we were starting to give up hope of seeing the dolphins and then all of a sudden, Michael turned the boat and sped off to a group of gulls floating in the water and suddenly, we found ourselves surrounded by beautiful white-sided dolphins who came right up to the boat. It was magical. My family and I and the two other passengers were having a great time running from side to side, watching the dolphins swimming around us. Michael gave us a little extra time so we could enjoy the experience as much as possible and were so grateful that he did. We sailed home feeling very happy! I can see a lot of people have left bad reviews for their trips being cancelled but haven’t taken the option of a trip on the wildlife boat - all I can say is they missed out! In future, I wouldn’t book the Seaprobe, I would book The Spirit of Adventure and hope to be skippered by Michael! Would definitely recommend!!

Amazing experience on board Spirit of Adventure. We'd booked with Seaprobe Atlantis and weren't able to make it out so the charter sent us out on a different boat. It was still an incredible experience where we saw seals, otters, puffins, WWII wrecks, castles and the lighthouse. Michael was our captain and tour guide and did an exceptional job of spotting wildlife and narrating our boat trip!

An absolute must. We only decided to go on the boat trip when we got off the train at Kyle of Lochalsh. It was the best decision we made. Our guide Micheal was informative, relaxed and fun. We stopped at a pod of dolphins. The dolphins jumped around, dived under, swam to and talked to us. An unforgettable experience, enhanced by the fabulous Micheal. Thoroughly recommend Seaprobe Atlantis

We really had a great time on this tour, and it fits really nicely into a day trip from Inverness on ScotRail. Even though the glass-bottomed boat was OOS and appears to have been for a while based on other reviews, we were expecting that and frankly had a really great time on the alternative that was offered. The views were great and the crew was charming, funny, and had a lot of great knowledge to share. The cup of tea as we were heading back in was a great touch as well. Absolutely would recommend without hesitation.
