Argyle House is a substantial coastal property on the Isle of Bute, sleeping up to 21 across 12 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. The main house spreads across three floors with a separate annexe, giving you complete privacy as a whole property rental. Every bedroom has a television, and most come with their own ensuite shower room. The living spaces include two sitting rooms, one with Netflix and a PlayStation 4, plus a well-stocked kitchen with a dishwasher, two washing machines and two tumble dryers—essentials for managing a large group. A hot tub for six sits in the enclosed garden, which has a firepit and garden furniture for outdoor gatherings.
What you get here extends beyond the basics. Bed linen, towels, heating, electricity and Wi-Fi are all included. If children are coming, there are travel cots, a highchair and a stairgate on hand. Dog owners will find bowls, beds and treats provided, and pets stay free of charge. The garden is enclosed, and there's bike storage plus on-road parking. The property sits on the Isle of Bute, accessible by ferry from the Firth of Clyde, with the Victorian resort town of Rothesay nearby. This is a place for family reunions and celebrations rather than quiet retreats. Note that the garden contains stone steps.

We had a wonderful stay at Argyle House to celebrate my daughter’s 40th birthday, the house was amazing plenty of rooms for us all. Every one agreed that everything we needed was there. The hot tub was a great addition and the outside seating with the cover was wonderful, we enjoyed sitting outside. The house is well situated for walking into Rothesay and we had a great Saturday afternoon at Buteyard. I would certainly go back.

Excellent House. Beautiful location and only minutes from the Ferry Port. Booked the house for 2 night stay with family members for a birthday celebration. 13 adults , 6 children and 2 small dogs. Check in made easy with security key box outside. A text message on arrival welcoming us to the house and giving some helpful information. The house is huge , 2 large comfortable sitting areas, kitchen with everything needed and a dining area to accommodate everyone comfortably. Not once did we feel overcrowded as the added annex to the house provided so much more space, meaning families could have their own area. All rooms in main house have en-suites. Rooms clean and beds very comfortable. Hot tub an added bonus. We had so much fun , playing games and enjoying cooking together , just so relaxing with beautiful views over the water. Shops and cafes etc minutes away. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the place.

Just home from a family holiday at Argyle House. The house was spacious and spotlessly clean with plenty of room for everyone. The hatch from the kitchen to the dining room made it very easy for catering for a large group and the kitchen was well equipped. We had dogs with us and there was a well-appointed dog area. Children and adults made good use of the hot tub and the back yard was very secure for the dogs. The location is just superb -we arrived with canoes and stand up padel boards and crossed the road and were into the water in minutes. We were in the water every day for swims and water sport sessions, and we also enjoyed cycles around the island (secure courtyard area for storage of bikes was a bonus). We enjoyed the proximity to town and wandered up to Bute Yards for a few pints (close to the castle). We took evening walks along the front to Port Bannatyne. Lots of family memories made and would not hesitate to book Argyle House again.
