Craig Lora comes fully equipped for a self-catering stay. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine, so you can cook properly or travel light. A wood-burning stove heats the cottage, with bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity all included. There's a travel cot and highchair if you need them, and the enclosed garden has a BBQ and seating area—useful for outdoor meals even in Argyll weather. One dog stays free, with extras provided.
The cottage sits on the River Orchy near Dalmally, a small village with a train station and golf course half a mile away. Two double and two single beds sleep four across the ground and first floors; a bathroom with bath and shower serves both. The riverside location puts you within reach of serious walking country—Ben Cruachan's dam walk, Kilchurn Castle on Loch Awe two miles off, and Oban's ferries to Mull and Iona. Winter brings skiing at Glencoe and Fort William. Fishing licences are available for the River Orchy itself and Loch Awe if you want to try for salmon or trout. There are four steps up to the entrance and four more to the first floor; the garden is fenced along the river.

One of the best self catering cottages I've stayed in . Excellent position with shore access to the river for wildlife and canoeing. Also plenty of walking nearby. The cottage is well equipped and has everything you need.

Lovely cottage with garden leading onto the river. One of the best cottages we have stayed in with everything we needed in kitchen almost home from home. Lots of birds and red squirrel in the garden
