Dykenamar
Argyll and Bute
The Isle of Bute has sandy beaches, three golf courses, cycle tracks and horse riding within reach, plus Rothesay's Victorian architecture and castle a few miles away. From the harbour there you can board the Waverley, the world's last working paddle steamer. Inland lochs draw coarse and game anglers; the sea offers equally good fishing. Wildlife spotting—ospreys, seals, dolphins, basking sharks—happens along the shoreline and on popular walks like the West Island Way. A post office and café operate in the village; a country inn is a mile off.
Dykenamar sits yards from the water in Kilchattan Bay, with a sandy beach where dogs and children run freely and a stone pier for launching kayaks and paddle boards. The house is single-storey, with three bedrooms (one double of 4ft 6in, another double of 4ft 6in, and two singles of 3ft each), two bathrooms, and a living area with kitchen, dining space and separate shower room. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washer-dryer, electric oven and induction hob. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included; one well-behaved pet stays free. Private parking fits four cars on site.
The house works for families and groups of up to seven. No smoking is permitted indoors. Check-in is after 15:00; check-out before 10:00.
