Dunoon sits on the Cowal Peninsula within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, surrounded by woodland, water and walks. The Heron stands just yards from the loch shore, a restored cottage that was once the village tea rooms. It occupies a prime spot for anyone wanting to spend time on or near the water—fishing, canoeing, or simply sitting out to watch the wildlife that passes through: bottlenose dolphins, seals, eiders and red squirrels are regular sightings from the property.

The cottage is laid out on one floor across two bedrooms (one double, one with twin singles) and a bathroom with both bath and shower. The living space centres on a woodburner and a 42" television; the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and washing machine. Bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided, along with heating and initial fuel for the stove. There is parking for three cars on site and a garden with seating.

The Argyll Forest begins at the property boundary, offering forest tracks and marked walking routes within easy reach. Dunoon town centre, with shops and restaurants, lies 4 miles away. One dog is welcome to stay.

Had a good relaxing stay here with our Spaniel, fantastic woodland walks in the forests behind the Heron and enjoyed the beach 100yds from the front door, didn't know there was a submarine base across the Loch but it gave us something to look at when we were sat looking through the bay window.
