The team is excellent and the pool is great. I heard amazing stuff about this gym so I joined but it has been very disappointing. Unfortunately, the gym facilities fall far below the standard you’d expect from West Lothian Leisure. I’ve had to really push myself to use the gym, as the experience is frustrating rather than motivating, or "Xciting". The gym lacks several basic essentials. For example, there are very few exercise mats, and the ones available are unclean and unpleasant to use. There is also extremely limited equipment: only one plyometric box, no safe or stable surfaces to lean on for exercises like hip thrusts, and a very small selection of dedicated machines. Space is another major issue. There isn’t enough room to set up a mat, stretch properly, or move comfortably during workouts. Accessories are also lacking — barbell padding is inadequate, and there aren’t enough reliable collar locks around the Smith machines, which raises safety concerns. Given how strong the team and pool facilities are, I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and invests in improving the gym. With better cleanliness, space management, and basic equipment, this could be a much better overall experience.

First time I've actually managed to get booked for aquafit since moving to Longridge last year. Really lovely pool, lovely staff and will definitely try booking weekly for aquafit classes.

I recently joined the Excite Gym network and have used this particular centre several times. It hasn't been too busy on the occasions I have visited. I only have one niggle, the gym closes way too early at the weekends.

I've been coming to Xcite Whitburn for a few months now in order to attend swimming lessons. I can't believe how much progress I made since I started! Adam is such a great teacher. I am forever grateful to him that he told me about prescription swimming goggles. This changed my swimming experience immensely. I am really short sighted and avoided swimming pools since high school as I just cannot see properly without my glasses. Everything is really blurry and I cannot even see if there is somebody else at the end of the lane. Now with my goggles and Adam's instructions swimming is a pleasure and I always look forward to my next lesson. Also, the whole atmosphere at the swimming pool is very welcoming and the people are lovely. Thank you for offering the swimming lessons as it can be difficult to get back to swimming or learn from scratch later on in life.
