Arun Cottage

This characterful two-bedroom cottage sits on a raised footpath in central Arundel, a historic market town where the castle and cathedral dominate the skyline. The ground floor opens into a combined living and dining space anchored by a wood burner, with a modern kitchen tucked alongside and French doors leading onto a walled courtyard garden. A separate toilet and small desk round out the layout downstairs. Upstairs, both bedrooms have kingsize beds and built-in wardrobes; one overlooks the street and the other commands views across Arundel, the River Arun and the surrounding plain. The family bathroom has a full bath with shower over.

The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine mean you can manage a week's self-catering without thinking twice. Bed linen, towels, wifi and logs for the wood burner come as standard. The patio garden, sheltered by high walls and accessed from the kitchen, works as a suntrap for eating outdoors; a barbecue is on hand if you want it. One small dog is welcome. A five-minute walk brings you to Arundel's centre with its antique shops, craft studios, restaurants and tearooms. The South Downs and Sussex coast are both within reach for day trips. Smoking is not permitted inside.
