What visitors say
Love this place. Take our bikes and go for a pedal! Car parking is fairly expensive (£6.50 for 2 hours) but the cost is obviously put to good use. Great ice cream in the cafe...

We really enjoy visiting this place - we live nearby in Swadlincote and the walks, café and facilities are always well kept. However, the prices do feel increasingly difficult to justify. Parking is nearly £7 for just 2 hours, and our quick stop at the café came to almost £20 for 2 drinks, 2 cakes and 2 dog ice creams. The café spend was our choice, so I don’t mind that as much, but the parking charges feel excessive. Even if the money supports the forest, the current prices risk making the site accessible mainly to those who can comfortably afford it, which is a real shame. We’d visit more often if parking were more reasonably priced, and I hope this is something that will be reviewed.

A very nice place to walk and cycle, brilliant for kids, easy access to conkers via cycle route. Cross the road to longer routes through the woods. Cafe on site. Paid parking

Been meaning to visit here for a while and it did not disappoint. Lovely place, gravel paths around lake and through the woods. Nice and clean with no litter. Staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful. Had a great afternoon with my dogs and will definitely visit again
