Fig Cottage
Ashford
A converted farm building at the foot of the North Downs, Fig Cottage sits within eight acres of private grounds that include a working vineyard you're free to explore. The property is detached and listed, with its own parking for two cars and direct access to the surrounding countryside—footpaths, cycle routes, and quiet roads run through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making it a solid base for walking, cycling, or riding. The nearest pub and restaurant are a quarter-mile away; shops two miles; the beach eight miles.
Ground floor holds an open-plan living space with a woodburning stove, Freeview TV and DVD player, a kitchen with electric oven and microwave, dining area, and a bedroom with a kingsize bed. Upstairs, the second bedroom has two single beds in a galleried space. There is one bathroom with bath and shower attachment. Oil heating covers the ground floor; electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included, as is the initial fuel for the stove. A laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and freezer is shared with the owners. The garden has a terrace, furniture and a barbecue.
Canterbury lies nine miles away; Whitstable, Hythe and Sandgate are within reach for a coastal day out. The Eurostar terminal and Channel Tunnel are accessible for those heading to France. Note that the property has open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs. No smoking is permitted.
