About The Griffin Hotel

Church Street in Attleborough sets the scene for The Griffin Hotel, with the wooded stretches of Breckland Forest and Wymondham Abbey both within reach for those who fancy a day exploring the surrounding Norfolk countryside. It's a small hotel with just six rooms, so the feel is more local inn than large-scale hotel, and free on-site parking makes it a straightforward stop for anyone touring the area by car.

Rooms are simple and en-suite, with free WiFi and drinks available in room, and a packed lunch can be arranged for guests heading out for the day. Breakfast is included, and there's a bridal suite for those after something a little different. The restaurant and bar have a genuine sense of history to them, giving the ground floor more character than the bedrooms, and there's a garden to sit out in when the weather allows. A 24 hour reception and business services cover the practical side of a stay, and pets are welcome too.

Beyond the hotel itself, Attleborough offers further pubs, bars and restaurants nearby, along with cycling and walking routes for those keen to get out into the Breckland countryside. It's a straightforward, well-placed base for exploring this part of Norfolk.

My husband and I went for lunch. He worries about eating out due to his parkinsons and they gave us a lovely quiet table in the restaurant. I had a burger which was very very good..he had curry all homemade. He felt very comfortable and really enjoyed his meal. We were not rushed and he could take his time and he ate it all. Sally looked after us beautifully. They also have a lovely snug lounge now where u can sit and enjoy and quiet drink. Highly recommend this place for the delicious food, care and atmosphere. It means alot to find somewhere my husband feels comfortable to eat and so well looked after. Thank you for a lovely afternoon

I arrived at this hotel and was greeted promptly by Paul at the bar he was very polite and attentive, he advised me regarding parking and accommodated my needs above and beyond. The breakfast was good I opted for a vegetarian breakfast it was served quickly and was fresh. The room was spacious and had a four poster bed which was unique and very well priced for what it was. I love the rustic style of the place it's very cool. I enjoyed my stay it was well within budget and it ticked all the boxes. Paul was superb and very professional and made me feel welcome thankyou :-) oh yeah the toilet has a blender attached to it you have been warned lol

I didn’t use the hotel part but I had a meal. A jacket potato. Firstly I didn’t feel that welcome staff didn’t take much notice of me because they were too interested in the regulars in the pub. I had a jacket potato which was still frozen maybe this wasn’t probed because shouldn’t have been sent out of the kitchen. I only ate a couple of folk fulls but not long after I wasn’t feeling too good. I didn’t say anything at the time because of feeling unwanted and unwelcome anyway. I will never go back here and wouldn’t recommend it. Not sure what the rooms are like as didn’t stay.
