About Ardlui Certificated Location

Ardlui Certificated Location is a small campground on the B742 in Ayrshire, near Ayr. It is a certificated site, which means it operates under the Camping and Caravanning Club's scheme allowing a limited number of pitches for members only. The site has showers available to guests.

Being certificated keeps numbers small and the atmosphere quieter than a standard campground. Beyond the shower block, details of what the pitches themselves offer – hardstanding, grass, electric hook-up – are not specified here, so it is worth checking directly with the site before booking to confirm what suits your setup.

This place was a gem of a find. Just outside Ayr it was Immaculately clean, beautifully kept site and really friendly and helpful owners. We had a truly peaceful evening and night, lovely hot shower in the morning, and the walk from the site us absolutly stunning. Can highly recommend Glendell. If we hadn't had plans we would have stayed another night or two!

Others have described this as a gem of a find, I would say it's a diamond. We were welcomed by the owner Joyce, who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, she directed us to a spot next to the lovely toilet/shower, the site was level, the electric point close by - perfect! I think that's probably the best night's sleep I had on the whole NC500 trip, despite the problems we had with all the 12 volt electrics failing due to the roads in the north of Scotland! Thanks Joyce, we will certainly use your site again next time we're in Scotland, it's delightful.

Loved the location of this site. Right under the flightpath which we loved. Although the road was fast it wasn't too busy. Great walk fir the dogs opposite the site. We walked into Ayr along the river and back. 18 miles in total! Luckily they could have a few dips in between. Although Ayr didn't seem to have much to do, but nice beach, it was a lovely walk. I feel there was a lot more to see around Glendell. Site was nice and laid back but a bit of local information would have been nice, walks and things. I don't really understand why the toilet is still closed but we were informed beforehand. Also the worst elsan point I have ever seen! But saying that I would stay again if the toilets were open.

Nice site with plenty of room, on fight path with no problem only a few flights. Only thing it needs is waste point upgrading.
