Spent one wonderful night at Auchencruvie and would definitely want to come back! Annie is a wonderful hostess. Friendly and welcoming. The house is fabulous! Warm , beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable. Everything you could possibly need is provided. High quality everything! Toiletries, towels, slippers, bathrobes. Amazing breakfast in the top quality breakfast room. Can’t praise this place enough!

We found the Retreat by pure chance and what a find. We were looking for a hotel in Loch Lomond but the whole area was fully booked. The Retreat came up as part of the search and since I know the area I called Annie to check booking availability at such short notice. She was actually having a weekend off but came back the following day to accommodate us. The house is gorgeous with glamour and glitz at the heart of the interior design. Everything has been thought about, a welcome bottle of Fizz, chocolates and the famous Tunnock’s Teacakes. A little bag called Oops I Forgot was a thoughtful touch and included essential toiletries. Annie is a real gem of a hostess nothing was too much trouble and her laid back style of hosting was refreshing. Breakfast time was flexible, I’m sure if we’d suggested midday she would have agreed! Similarly there was no rush to check out. A wonderful find.

The house is absolutly out of this world gorgeous interior decor (especially around Christmas) was fantastic, Stayed there new years eve and absolutly loved it, Annie the owner makes the diffrence makes it a real home from home and is just so lovley. Breakfast was highend fresh clean beautiful locally sourced eggs every morning was just fantastic. You Would not receive a service like Annie provides in any high end hotel. And she just leaves you to your business open house no hassles nothing, will defo be returning very soon loved it.

My wife and I stayed at the Knowe as we were attending a wedding nearby. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay (all be it brief), every touch in the place is done to perfection and Annie is a wonderful host and goes above and beyond the call of duty. We will definitely be returning in the future.
