About Braemar Caravan Park

Braemar Caravan Park sits on the edge of one of Britain's highest villages, with open views across the Cairngorms National Park's rolling hills. Run by the Invercauld Estate, it's one of the few sites in the area open eleven months a year, making it a rare winter option for tourers heading to Glenshee's slopes or walkers chasing shoulder-season solitude. The park takes touring caravans, motorhomes and tents, with electric hookups, pet-friendly pitches and Fog Pod cabins for those preferring four walls and a heater to canvas—a sensible choice given how cold Braemar nights can turn, even in summer.

The location is the real draw. The Linn of Dee and the tracks into the Lairig Ghru lie a short drive west, Lochnagar and Glen Muick to the east, and the National Trust's Mar Lodge Estate offers some of the finest low-level walking in the park. Braemar village has a shop, cafes, pubs and a community-run castle; on the first Saturday in September, the Braemar Gathering fills every pitch months ahead. Substantial expansion work has been under way in an adjacent field through 2026, so confirm layout and availability when booking.

A very lovely and well-maintained campsite. We were given a warm welcome even though we hadn’t booked in advance. The construction noise we’d been warned about turned out not to be a nuisance at all. The toilet and shower facilities were very clean. The nearby golf course is within walking distance. We’d love to come back.

What a gem find. Everything you need and more. Catering for campers, caravanners and motor homes alike. Fab location a short walk into Braemar and we cycled to Balmoral Castle, and we're not young! Great path back through the woods and forest , where unfortunately my wife took a tumble . The wardens (husband and wife team) went above and beyond to help us. Rescuing my wife and taking care of us. I can't praise them enough, as we were both quite upset. If we're ever in this neck of the woods again we will be back! Facilities are very well kept and clean, and plenty of hot showers. Drying room, boot wash, lovely dog walk on site, the list goes on! . Just 5* all the way. Thank u for taking care of us 💓

Well run site, tidy and well laid out. Good size pitches. Excellent shower and toilet facilities. Inside washing up area. Electricity charged on how much you use. Two nights was 96p!!! Most sites charge a fiver a night. Under a ten minute walk into the town which has cafes, butchers, bakers. Twenty minute walk to Braemar Castle. Balmoral was a 15minute drive.

Stayed here last month and we’re already heading back again next weekend, which says everything you need to know. Braemar Campsite is a real little gem. The site is immaculate, quiet, and beautifully kept, perfect whether you’re stopping over or staying a few days. What really makes it stand out though are the wardens. They’re genuinely brilliant. Friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Last time we stayed, they gave us a great pub recommendation, and it’s clear they really know the area and care about your stay. It’s rare to find a place where you feel that looked after, and it’s the main reason we’re coming straight back. Highly recommend if you’re heading to Braemar or the Cairngorms.
