About The Derby Hotel

The Derby Hotel keeps things simple with a bar on site for evening drinks and a breakfast to set guests up before a day out, making it a practical base rather than a fussy one. Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks available in-room, with family rooms and accessible rooms both on offer for different needs.

Beyond the bedrooms, the hotel provides free WiFi, 24 hour reception, luggage storage and meeting rooms, along with outdoor seating for guests who want to sit outside. It sits on Dalton Road in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, with restaurants and eateries nearby for those who fancy a change from the hotel bar.

The surrounding area suits an active stay, with walking and cycling routes close by along with golf, fishing, watersports and other entertainment. It also makes a sensible stop for anyone planning to explore the Lake District further afield.

The room was a decent size, extremely clean, and there were enough teabags to last me a week. The staff were friendly and helpful, made me feel welcome straight away. I was worried about noise levels from the pub, but I slept well without any disturbances. The location was good for me - right next to the train station - but I didn't have time to see what else was around. Either way, I enjoyed my stay.

Cracking place to stay, room was huge and very clean. The bar downstairs was always packed and was very fun and lively. Very well priced for a 2 night stay. Great location with a good Wetherspoons literally across the road 👍🏻 The slim guy with the glasses on the bar was very accommodating and funny! Would stay again if we found ourselves up this way.

Really beautiful hotel, located in a convenient location for a night out. It does get a bit noisy in a morning but that's to be expected. The staff are lovely and very helpful, Sue on housekeeping is very nice and polite. I enjoyed a lovely hot shower in the morning, the bed was firm but comfortable, tea and coffee is provided along with shower gel and a hair dryer. I would definitely return.
