Walkeridge Farm is a one-bedroom shepherd's hut designed for couples, set on working farmland with views across Watership Down. The single space contains a kingsize bed with wall-mounted TV, a shower room with heated towel rail, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric hob, microwave, grill, coffee machine, and full-sized fridge-freezer. Bed linen, towels, heating and wi-fi are all included; there's parking for two cars on site.
The real draw is outside. A private hot tub sits in your own garden area, alongside a fire pit and barbecue, with garden furniture provided. The setting is genuinely rural and quiet, though the Wayfarer's Walk passes nearby—a long-distance route for walkers and cyclists stretching across Hampshire and into Berkshire. Locally, you're within reach of Highclere Castle, the ruins at Basing House, and the market town of Newbury with its canal. Winchester is close enough for a day trip to the cathedral and independent shops. No smoking is permitted.

We had a lovely two-night stay at the Shepherd’s hut. It was immaculate, modern, and beautifully presented. Great seating area with the fire pit, amazing views and had everything we needed. A lovely dog-friendly location and excellent hosts. Would definitely recommend!

What an awesome CL site , the owner Joe is very friendly and helpful. It’s a great area for the watership down enthusiast if you google watership down trail or go on Reddit to download the map and follow the movie . This site has toilets and EHU and is very clean , there’s dog walks from the site and a gin distillery just down the road . The watership down pub is worth a visit too . There’s also a placed called Cliddesden just outside Basingstoke where back in 1937 will hay stared in a movie call oh mr porter

What an amazing time, the accommodation is beyond our expectations. The decorations, artwork finish it off with attention to detail that has been put into it. The location, walks and the warm welcome. Trust me, its worth a visit. Thank you for allowing us to share this experience.

Come down to Walkeridge Farm every December from Wales visiting Family & Friends. Lovely walks in all directions from the site and a good pub in walking distance. Always a warm welcome and helpful if required. Lovely sunsets in evenings even in December. And good views over the fields. Red kites always over the site and great to watch.
