The Stables at Wells-in-the-Field Farm
Basingstoke and Deane
View on Google MapsWalk through the door of The Stables and you're immediately on the first floor—an open-plan space where living and dining areas sit flooded with natural light from skylights and large windows that frame the surrounding fields. This converted barn has an upside-down layout that makes sense once you're inside: the main living zone occupies the upper level, while both bedrooms with their own bathrooms are downstairs on the ground floor. The kitchen is equipped to cook real meals, with a range cooker, dishwasher and all the basics. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels are all provided, and one well-behaved pet stays free.
Downstairs, the first bedroom has two single beds that zip together (useful for groups choosing their own arrangement), and the second is a double, each with its own shower room. Outside, an enclosed garden with patio seating looks over the farm. There's off-road parking for two cars, a bike store, and an outdoor tap handy for cleaning boots or dogs. The property sits at the end of a farm track with footpaths leading directly into countryside; a pub is a short walk away across the owner's field, and shops and restaurants are roughly a mile distant. One genuinely unusual feature: an Astroturf tennis court is available by arrangement with the owners, who live in the adjoining farmhouse.
